Another Israeli (and Jewish while we're at it) to receive the Nobel prize: Israel Robert Aumann, Prof. in the Hebrew Univ. in Jerusalem is one of two recipients of 2005 Nobel economics prize.

while the people on the goldwater site doubt that arafat earned the price, they forget, that a jewish nobelpeace winner actually was a terrorist as well: menachem begin, and his "freedomfighter" mates made a terror-attack on the king david hotel in israel and killed dozens of english people. nevertheless he became ministerpresident of israel and won the nobel price for peace.
so i guess we muslims have to start to make a complaint against him too or maybe we should just accept that people can change.
oh and you know, a reason that we haven't won so many prices is maybe that we're in general much poorer than you, could that be? muslim countries with a lot of money, like saudi arabia, i guess they just don't care, they're too fundamentalistic anyway, they don't give a damn about science unfortunately. they could build big universities and all, but they're too concerned about the religion.
i think, the way you presented this list, it just seems like you think all the muslims are stupid, which again would be very stupid of you. it makes me sad too that we, the muslims are only in the media when it comes to terrorism. but it's hard to stop the fundamentalists in a world where people often have nothing but their faith and believe anything their imam has to say however stupid it may be.
so i guess i'm falling a little off topic so i'll stop here. thx for reading (if you did).

I would never say that all muslims are stupid. Generalism is never a smart thing. I don't claim to be able to explain it, but the fact is that the most of the 1.4 billion muslims in the world live in relative poverty, under-educated, under-acheiving and with no real democracy. I cannot understand why this is the case. I believe that everyone controls his own destiny and if you only compare the very small, yet successful, country of Israel to any of the muslim countries, you will see that the muslims have no one else to blame for their condition but themselves.
As for the nobel prizes - i completely agree that people can change, and as far as I know, Menachem Begin and Annuar Saddat were true believers in peace and were changed men when they did it. However, this cannot be said for Yasser Arrafat - this person got all he wanted, and people actually believed he changed, but then he gave up any opportunity to solve the conflict and instead continued with his terrorism.
