Google Maps coverage of Italy

Google Maps (Google Local) only provided map coverage of USA and UK. Last week, they added coverage of Northern Italy (probably has to do with the winter olympics held there). Hopefully this is early bird for many more territories.
BTW, air photos are already available for most of the world in various qualities.
